Downtown Development Authority Downtown Development The Downtown Development Authority (the DDA) was established by City Ordinance in 1976 under the authority of Michigan Public Act 197 of 1975. The DDA Board is comprised of a board of 8 members who are appointed by the Marquette City Commission to serve a four year term and the City Manager. The purpose of the Authority is to “halt property value deterioration and increase property tax valuation…to eliminate the causes of that deterioration, and to promote economic growth.” Becky@downtownmarquette.org

Marquette County Michigan County Management This monumental structure inspired Judge J. W. Stone to include the following passage in his 1904 dedication address. As we rededicated the Marquette County Courthouse his words still ring true. stone“….This beautiful structure, this temple of justice, is to stand here as a monument to government, to law and order, as distinguished from anarchy lawlessness and disorder…..Its presence here cannot fail to have a salutary influence upon the people old and young, rich and poor.
