The Marquette County West End Youth Center has launched its 2026 Capital Campaign, focused on building accessible, consistent opportunities for youth across the West End and greater Marquette County.
Rather than starting with construction or programming alone, this year’s effort begins with community input—inviting business, families, and residents to help shape what comes next.
Start Here: Youth Roundtable (Public Open Session)

The campaign opens with a public meet-and-greet discussion event designed to gather real feedback from the community:
📍 Location: Doozer's 📅 Date: Thursday, April 23 ⏰ Time: 5:00 PM
Cudighi Tamales, sweet treats & open conversation
Just show up
Speak up (or just listen)
Youth voices + real discussion + a relaxed setting
This session is intentionally informal—focused on listening, not presenting.
What Is the Goal of the Roundtable? (Quick Answer)
Gather real input from youth and families
Identify gaps in activities, spaces, and support
Introduce West End Youth as a centralizing hub for opportunities
Shape programming based on actual community needs—not assumptions
What Does “West End Youth” Actually Do?
The Marquette County West End Youth Center is positioning itself as a central connector—not just a single program or building.
Think of it as:
A hub for activities, programs, and resources
A platform that helps youth discover what exists—and what’s missing
A way to coordinate efforts between organizations, schools, and community spaces
Instead of scattered opportunities, the goal is a more visible, organized system that youth can actually access and use.
Why Community Input Comes First

Many youth initiatives fail because they are built without direct input from the people they’re meant to serve.
This campaign flips that approach.
The focus:
Listen before building
Identify what youth actually want to do
Understand barriers (transportation, cost, awareness)
Align future efforts with real-world behavior
This creates a foundation for programming that is used, not ignored.
2026 Anchor Event: Monarch Butterfly Festival

The year’s efforts will culminate in the Annual Monarch Butterfly Festival, a symbolic and community-centered event representing transformation, growth, and momentum.
📍 Location: TBD📅 Date: September 12, 2026
The festival serves as both:
A celebration of youth creativity and participation
A visible milestone for the progress of the capital campaign
It connects everything—community input, programming, and public engagement—into one shared moment.
What the 2026 Capital Campaign Is Really About
This year’s campaign is less about a single outcome and more about building the system that makes everything possible.
Key priorities:
Expanding access to activities and structured opportunities
Supporting mental health, creativity, and connection
Creating clearer pathways for youth to find and participate in programs
Strengthening collaboration between local organizations
